Once registered: 

  • Click on the Content & Tests Tab on the top of this page. A PDF document with separate course links will be available. 
  • Click the links within the document to take the course(s). 
  • Each course has continuing education credits that will be available after course completion. No need to take the entire curriculum in order to receive credits
  • To complete each course: review the video, complete post test with a 100%, and submit an evaluation.

Overview

The EMS Continuing Education Curriculum has been designed to meet some of the continuing education needs of emergency medical services professionals. Course content includes effectively presenting a trauma patient in different settings, emergency airway management, management of spine injury, scene safety, bariatric trauma, hypothermic trauma , thoracic trauma, tourniquets, and traumatic cardiac arrest.

Education content was created and approved by SD DOH and hosted by Avera.

Accreditation

The South Dakota Department of Health has approved each course for EMS Continuing Education. A certificate with additional information will be provided at the end of each course.
