MATERNAL American Indian Rural Community Health

The Avera Research Institute’s MARCH Center of Excellence in maternal health research provides a platform for researchers, tribal nations, rural communities, and key stakeholders to engage in bidirectional communication on maternal health, in particular drivers of mortality and severe morbidity.  The Center of Excellence is part of the Implementing a Maternal Health and Pregnancy Outcomes Vision for Everyone (IMPROVE) Initiative in which the National Institutes of Health established Centers of Excellence across the nation.   The training component will provide training on cultural competency, research literacy, and skill and capacity building for investigators and community partners.
