Overview
The Avera Research Institute Maternal Health Research Center of Excellence (MARCH) provides a platform for researchers, tribal nations, rural communities, and key stakeholders to engage in bidirectional communication on maternal health, in particular drivers of mortality and severe morbidity. This is a recorded session from the 2024 MARCH CoE Summit that discusses how Indian Health Services has cared for first nations people and how to apply some of their strategies.

  1. Analyze and discuss cultural appropriate practices in rural and minority communities, particularly American Indian communities.
  2. Analyze and discuss social determinants that affect practices in rural and minority communities.
  3. Examine Indian Health Services regarding maternal and child health and how to apply their strategies.
  4. Integrate a multidisciplinary approach into the development of plan of care.
