During this event, learn more about how anxiety and depression play a role in a child’s health, and how you can be an active ally for a child who is struggling with these behavioral health conditions. Lynn Lyons is a licensed and independent clinical social worker (LICSW), author and speaker from Concord, N.H. She has nearly 30 years of experience, and specializes in the topic of anxiety. In her presentation, she’ll share more about anxiety and how it affects not only the individual but also the family.

Objectives
Outcome: At conclusion of the educational activity, 90% of participants will self-report knowledge gain of tools that can be used to improve student’s symptoms of depression and anxiety in the school setting.

  1. Describe characteristics of effective tips that can be used in the school setting.
  2. Describe 1 tip that can be used in the classroom.
  3. List method of how to refer a student with mental health symptoms.
