Day 1, March 4th - Highlighting research, programs and resources that support maternal health

Day 2, March 5th - Interactive sessions that use evidence-based practices and exercises, including role-playing and discussion to improve patient-provider dynamics in maternal healthcare settings. DAY 2 has limited space for attendees.

Overview
The Avera Research Institute Maternal American Indian and Rural Community Health (MARCH) Center of Excellence provides a platform for researchers, tribal nations, rural communities, and key stakeholders to engage in bidirectional communication on maternal health, in particular drivers of mortality and severe morbidity. This Live session is designed to bring maternal healthcare professionals together to work collaboratively towards enhancing knowledge and skills for investigators and community partners to conduct research and improve health care for women. Last year, the MARCH Summit laid the groundwork for what maternal morbidity and mortality looked like in South Dakota. This year, the MARCH Summit will highlight research, programs and resources that support maternal health.

In support of improving patient care, Avera is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

 

Credit Designations:

 

IPCE (Team-based): This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 5.5 IPCE credits for learning and change. 

 

 

 

Medicine CME:  Avera designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program.  It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
