Overview
The presentation will talk about wound care for all patients but particular to the more vulnerable Senior care patients. Anatomy and Physiology of Skin,Types of wounds and treatments, prevention,Documentation of wounds,pain management, Wound consult. This activity will enhance the learners knowledge of wounds and skin care and the modalities to treat various wounds and describe wound prevention methods.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Describe anatomy and Physiology of Skin and elderly changes.
  2. Describe types of wounds, treatment and prevention.
  3. How to document detailed comprehensive details in regards to wounds.
  4. What to identify in wound consult.
  5. Pain management and end of life care.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. What is skin, layers of skin,skin function and skin facts
  2. Pressure injury, staging, prevention and treatment
  3. Accurate concise documentation
  4. How and when to consult wound specialist
  5. How to mange end of life pain and wound care.
  6. 100% of nurses will pass a post-test to demonstrate knowledge gain with 90% or better score.
