The Avera Brain and Spine Institute Conference will help participants learn all things related to strokes and enhance collaboration between primary and specialty care providers when caring for patients with neurological issues. Members of the healthcare will be able to come together to better understand stroke recognition, current practices and guidelines, and methods to advance the care for stroke patients and post recovery.

2. Distinguish recommended treatment interventions for acute stroke symptoms
3. Define symptoms of acute strike and describe the diagnosis and treatment guideline
4. Distinguish recommended treatment recommendations for acute stroke
5. Describe the diagnostic evaluation for acute stroke
6. Describe endovascular intervention for acute stroke
7. Describe the current state stoke initiatives in health care and at the state level
8. Describe the current research for stroke and post stroke care
9. Describe the current health care services to provider stroke care
10. Describe post stroke rehabilitation care
11. Describe post acute stroke care after discharge from hospital
12. Discuss collaborative approaches to patient care for patient with neurological conditions.

	Medicine CME:  Avera designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program.  It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
	Nurse CE: Avera designates this activity for a maximum of 5.75 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
	Social Work: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Avera is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 5.75 Clinical continuing education credit(s).
	SD EMS: This training has been approved by the SD Dept. of Health for EMS continuing education. EMTs will receive 5.75 continuing education credit(s) for participating in this course. MN EMS: This education qualifies as Continuing Education, LCCR, or ICCR in the State of Minnesota. EMTs will receive 5.75 continuing education credit(s) for participating in this course.
