Overview
Avera IPCE Committee and Planner Appreciation day has been developed as an opportunity to create continuing educational opportunities for the individuals who have spent countless hours developing, designing, and implementing continuing educational opportunities for their own employees throughout Avera This is a recording from the day that was designed to promote continued personal and professional development for those individuals and provide an opportunity to learn with and from each other. This session will focus on engagement strategies, educational activities that are associated with grants and how to link your educational activities to quality initiatives.

Target Audience
Professions - Athletic Trainer, Nurse - Nurse Practitioner, Nurse - RN, Nursing Facility Administrator, Pharmacist, Physician, Physician Assistant, Social Worker

Objectives
  1. Review and discuss how to engage today's learners when developing educational opportunities
  2. Develop strategies to develop an effective educational plan when grants are involved
  3. Discuss methods to connect our education to quality and how this drives our overall mission at Avera
  4. Discuss how collaboration with other members of the IPCE committee and planners can lead to a higher level designed education in order to impact patient care.

Accreditation

 

In support of improving patient care, Avera is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

 

Credit Designations:

 

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 1.25 IPCE credits for learning and change. 

 

 

 

Physician:  Avera designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

 

 

Nurse: Avera designates this activity for a maximum of 1.25 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

 

 

Pharmacy CE: Avera designates this activity for 1.25 ACPE contact hour(s). Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credit will be uploaded to the NABP CPE Monitor® within 30 days after the activity completion. Per ACPE rules, Avera does not have access nor the ability to upload credits requested after the evaluation closes. It is the responsibility of the pharmacist or pharmacy technician to provide the correct information (NABP ID and DOB (MMDD)) to receive credit.

 

 

 

Athletic Training CE: Avera (BOC AP#: JA0008079) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs). This program is eligible for a maximum of 1.25 Category A hour(s)/CEU(s). ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

 

 

 

Social Work: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Avera is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.25 General continuing education credit(s).

 

 

 

Nursing Facility Administrator: Avera is an approved provider of continuing education for South Dakota through the South Dakota Board of Nursing Facility Administrators. This educational activity is approved for 1.25 hour(s) for nursing facility administrators.
