The Avera McKennan Nursing Excellence Conference is an opportunity for nurse leaders, clinical nurses and nursing students the opportunity to learn from current nursing research, evidence-based practice and quality improvement projects. These projects were conducted in hospitals, clinics and community settings. The results of these projects provide insights into the current challenges of providing quality patient care and respond to the impact of technology on care delivery in hospital settings.

1. Describe the process to implement and evidence-based fall assessment tool on a senior behavioral health unit.
2. Discuss the implementation of a formal anxiety and depression screening process in pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease with the goal to implement evidence-based interventions.
3. Describe the impact of a critical care nurse, educational program to improve accurate management of cardiac arrhythmias in a clinical setting.
4. Discuss the implementation of a virtual nurse and patient care tech monitoring process to improve patient safety and quality outcomes.
5. Describe the implementation of maternal and newborn simulation training in rural healthcare facilities to improve maternal mortality and morbidity in vulnerable, rural patient populations.
6. Discuss the development and implementation of a focused discharge educational process to improve patient satisfaction in an outpatient surgical unit.
7. Discuss the implementation of a staff gratitude practice in an inpatient psychiatric nursing unit to reduce staff burnout.
