Nursing Grand Rounds is a regularly occurring scheduled forum where nurses from any care area within the organization can come to present complex patient cases. These case studies provide an overview of the patient diagnosis, work of the interdisciplinary team and detailed care planning done by the healthcare team. The case studies presented highlight the best in nursing practice, innovation and evidence-based care.

Objective(s): 1 Discuss signs and symptoms of life-threatening bleeding 2 Demonstrate appropriate steps to stop the bleed including direct pressure, packing the wound and applying a tourniquet 3 Identify how Stop the Bleed can be propagated in the community. 4 Discuss the multidisciplinary approach to caring for an injured patient with life-threatening bleeding.

	Social Work: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Avera is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.25 Cultural Competency continuing education credit(s).
