The Avera Research Institute of Maternal Health Research Center of Excellence (MARCH) provides a platforms a platform for researchers, tribal nations, rural communities, and key stakeholders to engage in bidirectional communication on maternal health, in particular drivers of mortality and severe morbidity. This Avera Live Webinar session about "Cannabis and Pregnancy" is part of the Avera Research Institute, MARCH Center of Excellence training for enhancing knowledge and skills for investigators and community partners to conduct research and improve health care for women.

Objectives
  1. Integrate a multidiciplinary approach into the development of plan of care.
  2. Identify practice related quality and safety issues.
  3. Discuss cultural appropriate practices in rural and minority communities, particularly American Indian communities.
  4. Discuss and analyze team barriers that could impede patient care.
  5. Identify strategies in a collaborative team approach to prevent and manage complications related to maternal mortality and morbidity.

The MARCH Center of Excellence provides a platform for researchers, tribal nations, rural communities, and key stakeholders to engage in bidirectional communication on maternal health. Accreditation

  In support of improving patient care, Avera is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

 

Credit Designations:

  IPCE (Team-based): This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 1.0 IPCE credits for learning and change. 
   
 

Medicine CME:  Avera designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program.  It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
