Avera ICPE Planner Bi-Annual Meeting August 2023

As an Avera ICPE planner, it is important to stay abreast of the changes and requirements laid out in the Standards of Integrity.  We will go over expectations of the IPCE Planner as well as the Avera CE Team.

Expectations of Planners:

1. Know and ensure committee adheres to the Standards of Integrity

2. Attend required bi-annual trainings – February and August

3. Meet timelines of required documentation before and after activities

4. During each activity:

• Texting slides to be shared with participants (contains required and important information for participants)
• Texting code – how to record your attendance and get your credits
• Accreditation statements
• Disclosure of those involved in the planning and implementation of education
• Team based questions

5. Communicate any changes to an approved application to Avera Continuing Education

Expectations of the CE Team:

1. Ensure all planners are equipped with the information needed to uphold the Standards of Integrity
2. Develop planner resources to help make you successful
3. Coordinate CE planner meetings and trainings
4. Develop all communication sent out to the CE planners
5. Create and maintain the CE Portal to ensure functionality for users
6. Ensure timelines are met and documents are provided to planners prior to your activities.

In support of improving patient care, Avera is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Avera adheres to the Joint Accreditation’s Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education.

Individuals in a position to control the content of this CE activity, including faculty, planners, reviewers, or others are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships with ineligible companies. An ineligible company is any entity whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients. All of the relevant financial relationships listed below have been mitigated prior to the commencement of the activity.
