2023 South Dakota Statewide Trauma Conference

This two-day multidisciplinary Statewide Trauma Conference is an educational opportunity for the trauma communities across the state of South Dakota. Our goal is to not only provide education, but to create a networking opportunity for the South Dakota Trauma Community.

1. Discuss current practices in the care of the trauma patient.
2. Identify roles and responsibilities when caring for the trauma patient.
3. Recognize how collaboration with other healthcare professionals working with trauma patients throughout the state leads to improved practices

Department Sponsor: This activity has been planned and implemented by Avera and South Dakota Department of Health, Office of EMS and Trauma, and ATLS Taskforce.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Avera and South Dakota Department of Health, Office of EMS and Trauma, and ATLS Taskforce. Avera is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

Credit Designations:

	This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 10.75 IPCE credits for learning and change.
	Medicine CME:  Avera designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program.  It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
	Nurse: Avera designates this activity for a maximum of 10.75 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
	MN EMS: This education qualifies as Continuing Education, LCCR, or ICCR in the State of Minnesota. EMTs will receive 10.75 continuing education credit(s) for participating in this course
	SD EMS: This training has been approved by the SD Dept. of Health for EMS continuing education. EMTs will receive 10.75 continuing education credit(s) for participating in this course.
