$50 per Participant

Cancellation Policy:
A refund less 5% of registration fee will be given for cancellations received in writing to [email protected] prior to 5 business days of activity. Following this date, no refunds will be given but substitutions will be accepted.

Videoconference:
This program will be videoconferenced.
Participants may register to attend the program via video conference at their location.  Please note in the comments section that you will be joining from your facility via video-conference.  You will be responsible for contacting your facilities video conference coordinator to arrange video conference viewing at your site.

The Avera Cancer Institute Oncology Symposium is designed to enhance collaboration between the provider and the multidisciplinary team in caring for individuals with cancer across the continuum of care.

1. The learner will be able to identify key team member roles integral to the oncology patient’s care. (Schockney)
2. The learner will discuss methods to incorporate integrative medicine into care of the cancer patient. (Flickema)
3. The learner will be able to define the role of survivorship planning in the treatment plan of the oncology patient. (Schockney)
4. The learner will define ethical principles that guide clinical decision-making when developing an oncology care plan. (Hill)
5. The learner will define the role specialty pharmacy plays in the care of the oncology patient. (Toennies)
6. The learner will differentiate between grief and depression in the care of the oncology patient. (Hericks/Ling)
7. The learner will be able to examine the multifactorial effects of cancer treatment. (Gant)
8. The learner will be able to detail the role interventional radiology plays in the treatment of the oncology patient. (Patel/Plorde/Yim)
9. The learner will identify key components of clinical research development. (Solomon)
10. The learner will describe the role of systemic therapy and genomic profile testing in early breast cancer. (Jones)
11. The learner will describe current guidelines regarding use of bone-modifying agents in the oncology patient. (Hobbs)
12. The learner will identify sentinel node mapping and the implications for the gynecologic oncology patient. (Rojas/Starks)

Parking:
The event will be held in the Sister Colman Room located within the beautiful Prairie Center. The Prairie Center is home to several busy clinics that care for patients on a daily basis. With that in mind we request that Avera McKennan employees park in their regularly designated parking lot. In addition, we ask that all other participants park on the 7th level of the North Parking Ramp located on 20th Street. Carpooling is encouraged. The valet parking service is for patients only.
