Overview

Providers of whole-person care will learn best practices and gain fresh insights, including spiritual approaches designed to help them achieve balance and perspective in their practice and personal lives.

We welcome all people who work in the field of whole-person care, including chaplains, social workers, parish nurses, psychologists, nurses, counselors, physicians, therapists, long-term care administrators and providers, home health and hospice caregivers, health care administrators, and other healthcare providers.



Objectives

  1. Define the value of inspiration in your healthcare career.
  2. Implement exercises and techniques to assist in your connection/reconnection to to purpose, passion and inspiration in your healthcare career.
  3. Discuss specific self-healing and self-care techniques.
  4. Identify ways to stay inspired, engaged and connected to your work.
  5. Recognize how patients experience compassion within care.
  6. Explore patient perception of quality care.
  7. Incorporate whole person care into daily work.

Registration

$45 per participant

Cancellation Policy: A refund less 5% of registration fee will be given for cancellations received in writing to averacontinuingeducation@avera.org prior to 5 business days of activity. Following this date, no refunds will be given but substitutions will be accepted.

Video Conference:  This program will not be available via videoconference.



Accreditation

CME Accreditation Statement: 
Avera is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing education for physicians. Avera designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CNE Accreditation Statement: 
Avera is an Approved Provider of continuing nursing education by the Alabama State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. A total 5.25 contact hours can be received upon completion of this activity. Attendance at the entire educational activity is required to receive contact hours.

Social Work: 
The South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners has approved this program for 5.25 Contact Hours. 

Counselors & Marriage and Family Therapists:
The South Dakota Board of Examiners for Counselors & Marriage and Family Therapists has approved this program for 5.25 hours on continuing education credits.

Long Term Care Administrators:
Avera is an approved provider for nursing facility administrators.  This program is approved for 5.25 hours.
