This series is designed to provide evidence based monthly educational opportunities to sports medicine health care professionals.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Define the role of the health care provider within the multidisciplinary sports medicine team as it relates to the educational topic.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Define the role of the nurse within the multidisciplinary sports medicine team as it relates to the educational topic.
  2. 80% of nurses can self-report a knowledge gain related to how to effectively care for sports medicine patients.

Accreditation

CME Accreditation Statement: 
Avera is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  Application has been made for continuing medical education.

NCPD Accreditation Statement: 
Avera is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Application has been made for continuing nursing education.

Athletic Training:
Avera (BOC AP#2910) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 1.0 Category A Hours/CEUs per session. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.
