Description
The Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) program was developed by the Society of Critical Care Medicine to assist clinical care providers in acquiring, reviewing and practicing knowledge and skills needed to stabilize critically ill or injured patients.This two day course will focus on knowledge for the providers delivering care to the sicker patients in the critical access facilities and enhance their knowledge of care for these patients. This two day course is designed for our clinical providers in the region. We are Honored to have Dr. J.Christopher Farmer be part of faculty at this course. He is a co-author of Fundamentals of Critical Care Support 6th edition.


Objectives
Upon completion of this activity the learner will:

  1. Discuss the management of life threatening electrolyte and metabolic disturbances.
  2. Review the principles of mechanical ventilation. Part 1
  3. Recognize the seriously ill patient.
  4. Review life threatening infections, including treatments
  5. Discuss care of the neurological patient.
  6. Discuss oxygen balance including acid base status in critical care patient.
  7. Discuss ethics in critical care.
  8. Discuss acute coronary syndromes.
  9. Review the principles of mechanical ventilation. Part 2

This is a two day class. A light lunch will be provided on Day 1.
